After 3 Months of Closure we are delighted to welcome our customers back.
However due to the current climate we have had to change the way we do things. We have done so with your upmost safety in mind and have worked tirelessly to ensure a safe environment for both our Customers and Team.
We have outlined some of the key changes and a few tips for you below to ensure you are well informed prior to your visit with the intention to assist you in having an enjoyable and safe experience whilst you are here.
We ask that you bear with us, especially during busy periods whilst our team adjusts to the changes and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

We now only have one separate entry point and one separate exit point.
Our entry point can be accessed via the main pathway leading from our cobbled Car Park. All customers must exit the building via our Front door entrance on New lane. Located in our Main Bar area.
A Sanitiser point has been installed at our entrance and we ask that all our customers sanitise their hands prior to entering the premises. We also have various sanitiser points throughout the premises and encourage all of our customers to utilise these and sanitise and wash your hands regularly throughout your visit.
To account for busy periods, we have a two-way queuing system in place at our entrance, so please bear with us if you have to queue for a short time.
Our lay out has been revised to meet with current government social distancing guidelines. In some areas we have clearly marked one-way systems in place which we kindly ask you to adhere to them. Whilst on the premises we ask that all of our customers adhere to the social distancing guidelines with all staff and other customers outside of your household/ bubble.
Much as life usually revolves around the bar, unfortunately we cannot allow our customers to drink or dine at the bar and all customers who wish to use our indoor premises must be seated by one of our team at a table. On arrival, please wait to be seated and full table service will be provided by our team throughout your visit.
Indoor gatherings should be in groups of up to two households in the same support bubble.
Although you are still welcome to just come along, we highly recommend you book ahead.
We have substantially reduced our indoor capacity so whether you wish to dine with us or just want to stop in for a drink, we are more than happy to take a reservation for you. We are fortunate enough to have a lovely outdoor area with ample space, and on this basis we will not be taking reservations for outside tables and it will work on a first come first served basis.
We will do our upmost to keep a safe distance where possible when taking orders and serving your table.
We have introduced a ‘one person per bathroom at a time’ policy. We kindly ask that you adhere to this policy whilst you are here, which is clearly displayed by the entrance to our bathrooms.
We have introduced a new layout around our bathrooms to allow you to wait for bathroom use whilst still maintaining a social distance from other customers outside of your bubble. We ask that all our customers use the hand sanitiser provided and sanitise their hands prior to entering our bathrooms.
The Farmers Arms is located right on the Liverpool / Leeds canal bank with sweeping views over the surrounding fields and Farm land, located just a few miles from Burscough and Ormskirk.
We are closely situated to some fabulous walks and Martin Mere Wetland and Wild life centre, making us the perfect place to have a spot of lunch or just a quick pitt stop and enjoy one of our cask ales or a barista coffee to help you on your way.
In addition, our wealth of outdoor space and 24 hr boat moorings make us a comftable over night stay for motor homes and barges.
Our menu brings you freshly cooked food, using quality ingredients. All our produce is sourced locally where possible and our dishes are updated regularly to reflect the seasons. As well as our menu, we provide daily specials, which always includes a Traditional Roast on a Sunday.
As we cook all our dishes to order we are also able to cater for any dietary requirements and we are happy to re-work a dish or create something new, to suit your requirements.
We feel the key to getting back up and running successfully is to keep it simple. On this basis we won’t be hosting any events or offering any special deals at this time. As and when this changes, we will keep you posted via this website and our Facebook page.
